Why did I rewrite the review?
Didn't like the old one too much. I like this one much better.

Riffs seemed to take a bit of a backseat on GHUA and Christ Illusion,
Ummmm Christ Illusion was the return to the riffs so I would take that out and replace it with Diabolus in Musica. Seriously, that's what made the album solid.
I like the re-write to your original review. I just completely disagree with it, that's all hahahaha. To also summarize a quote that Kerry said in an interview: "The album was rushed". Explains alot. Band needs to just pack it in because this was a failure. Sounds like a sloppy excuse to recreate the past.

Wizard: There weren't very many impressive riffs on Christ Illusion, IMO. It was a good album, but it seemed that sheer speed and double-time snares were placed at a much higher priority than the rock-solid rhythms these guys can create. Almost like a dark, hyper-aggressive speed metal album than a real thrash album. Either way, this isn't criticism, because I did like the final product.

Your the only one who's ever said that about Christ Illusion. What kind of a fanboy are you? hahahahaha jk.

And you didn't find a problem with the production this? Drums were far too tin-canny on this album.

Production was pretty bad tbh. Tinny drums and paper thin guitar tone

I think you misunderstood that. I wasn't saying that it was simply buried in the mix, but it seems that the band badly enough wanted to return to Reign In Blood type tempos, as a result the main thing they cared about was fast, without really laying the foundation (good solid riffs) under those tempos. Speed for the sake of speed.
Again, I like the production on this album. The snares are fine, only thing I have an issue with is Lombardo's base drums.

I'm shocked that nobody's attacked me for the Seasons-related portion of this.

I was going to attack you for that but I understand that you like Slayer more than SouthofHeaven so....... hahahahaha. Seasons.... and South of Heaven will always rule their discography.

I understand you now but I think this is why Kerry King should retire.

"doesn't rely as much on the sinister 'Dead Skin Mask' or 'Expendable Youth' type songs"
But that's what I loved about Seasons! That sinister, evil sound that made the record stand out from Reign In Blood and the grittier, more raw sound that made it stand out from South of Heaven. I really liked this disc when I first got it, but it's grown off me quite a bit..
Good review though man, even though I disagree.
