Yes it is.
Led's right, but it would be a closer battle if WTTJ didn't feature Axl making orgasmic sounds. That sort of turns me off from that song. Not to mention SCOM has a pwnful solo. They're both great songs though. This Message Edited On 09.19.06

Nope. Maybe the end portion could redeem it, but sans that the song is kind of boring.

It can be a little boring, but I still prefer it to Welcome'. It's mainly just Axl that turns me away from it. The orgasmic noises I mentioned also some of the lyrics sucked.
"You Know Where You Are? You're In The Jungle Baby. You're Gonna Die"
That just really didn't seem to fit with the rest of the song IMO.

Well, I'll admit that I'm biased in this argument.
I just flat out despise GNR. (OMFG!)

Sorry, but nobody wails louder/better than Robert Plant

Welcome to the Jungle is the closest thing to perfection Guns n Roses ever came. It's their best song bar none, and the best song to kill people to in GTA San Andreas.

Best Band... Ever

I just bought Use Your Illusion 1 and like it alot more than "Appetite"
It's more diverse in style.

I like UYI1 more because it has November Rain, Live and Let Die (which I think is a better cover than Knockin on Heavens Door), and You ain't the First.
Number two problably is better musically and lyrically, or maybe it just has better production, I don't know. It's just a matter of opinion.

with GNR I definatly go in cycles. Gimme a month or so and I won't care anymore.
Then when I get bored with my normal base of music (Led Zeppelin, The Decemberists, Joe Satriani, Pink Floyd, Muse) I'll go back.
I've never been a huge fan of there's (they seem kind of hollow at times, there's only so much "lets go have sex, do drugs, and get in fights" you can take)
They are coming to Portland pretty soon, I would love to go see them. Always in the mood for a good show. This Message Edited On 10.24.06

If I could name two albums that defined my youth for the amount of time they spent in my walkman/stereo, it would be Metallica - Master of Puppets and GNFNR - Appetite for Destruction. I was completely converted to hard rock and metal from that point on. I wore this cassette tape out three times. I sang these songs in my sleep. I completely worshiped them. Anything less than a 5 rating must be submitted by a Barry Manilow fan. You're F***ing Crazy! Rock has rarely been perfected or duplicated like it has with Appetite For Destruction. In the interests of balance, I have been repeatedly trying to rate this as a 1, but it refuses to let me go any lower than a 2. What's up with that???

How then are these "off limits" albums chosen?

GNR is the greatest band that has ever been created and will always be. This album and all there other albums would get a 5.

Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix are the only bands you need 2 listen to. They are pretty much the only bands I listen to. Why listen to anything other than the best?

There's much music better than those three.

How can they be the only bands you listento? If I listened to my three favorite bands only I would get really sick of them.
