For sure. Fireball was the first rock album that Lars Ulrich got so you're correct.

I wonder if No No No was inspired by the Vietnam War.

Did Bob Dylan influence DP?

Anyone's Daughter makes me think that.

Fools is such an awesome track.

Child in Time is amazing, but Fools runs it close.

Kind of a shame Fools didn't make it on MiJ.

Song rocks so much ass.

There are a few songs that unfortunately Purple didn't play back then but because of their improvisations they could include only certain number of songs in their live sets. There are some live versions of the song on YT but they're more recent.

Fireball is the follow-up to the classic 'Deep Purple in Rock.' Did anyone really expect the band to top that? I don't think so, but this is a very strong effort.

The title track is easily on par with Speed King and Highway Star as an opener. Ian Paice is on fire and Glover's fuzzy basslines are killer. Jon Lord gives one of his most memorable solos of the Mark II era.

No No No is another classic number. The rhythm section is tight on this song, but Ritchie and Lord steal the show. Great riff, awesome guitar solo, and another superb key solo. Gillan gives a solid vocal performance and ends the song with an intense scream.

The Mule is psychedelic number with a hypnotic groove held by Paice. Ritchie mixes it up in the middle with one of his best rock guitar solos.

The only oddball is 'Anyone's Daughter' which doesn't fit with the rest of the album, though it's still a great song. Gillan's amusing lyrics give the song an unusual charm.

Fools is a masterpiece. One of the best songs the band has ever recorded.

Fireball is very different from it's predecessor 'In Rock' and successor 'Machine Head.' Sandwiched between these two classics, Fireball is more experimental, more mellow, but still a very memorable album. I highly recommend it!
