"August Burns Red are boring, there I said it. They’re boring,"

ok...?

"and incredibly dull"

wait, isnt that the same as boring

"combining this with an under usage of bass work. Their bassist occasionally demonstrates competency but is too"

Inconsistent

"most impressive part of his performance"

this is saying that his vocal performance is all around impressive.

"but the fact is there’s a not a single instance on this album where he’s enjoyable"

you just said his mid-range yell is impressive

"uninteresting vocals"

same as boring"

"isn’t particularly interesting"

same as boring

"the sheer blandness"

same as boring

Thats only a handful. You repeat the same exact point throughout, and you explain all your points poorly.

I saw these guys live with Parkway Drive and Architects, and they were the lesser of the 3 bands by quite a margin...
Also, Messengers is much better than this album, imo.

I respectfully disagree, Se2ond coming.

you just said his mid-range yell is impressive

But he never said it was enjoyable. And he said "most impressive", which usually translates as "least

sucky." Mostly dead, slightly alive, you know?

And since when are reviewers not allowed to use synonymous language? The emphasis he puts on

how boring this record is communicates his point quite clearly: this bored him.

it is allowed, but theres no backing. its used as a clutch for the ENTIRE review. its as if he's trying to forcefully convince you of that one underlying point throughout the ENTIRE review. his ideas don't meld together or form anything that convince. it comes off as "this album is boring, im gonna rate it a 2, fuck you society!"

He probably was.

Well, I'm convinced that Taylor thinks this album is boring.

I understand where you're coming from and how you'd like to see the review fleshed out a little

bit... but especially as a frequent reviewer, I know what when I find an album to be consistently

boring, it's hard to write much more about it. Because, well, it's boring.

In short, you get the full jist of this review from the first paragraph. the entire review is fluff, and offers nothing.

And one other thing, how exactly does "speaking amidst a wave of vomit" sound

"Sounds like your mother gagging on a dick"

my Que to go to bed, its 3:30. I've entertained this long enough. I've offered plenty of points, practice something called reading comprehension to help grasp my already clear points.

Again, when we stop taking things out of context, his mid-range is the best part of his "TERRIBLE VOCAL PERFORMANCE" i.e. his vocals suck, but one part sucks less than the other two. Still waiting on a point btw.

That you would call this terrible, is amazingly really. witchxrapist said it rather nicely, the guy's got talent. I really don't know why you can't see it...

Sounds like your mother gagging on a dick, you know the sound that rocked you to sleep? Also have you ever written an essay before? Works like this, you select a point and then emphasize this point. The end. Also when are you going to actually put forth a point that offers a counter opinion, been asking for one? Do you actually have one?

Quit with the 12 year old comebacks, and maybe we can get somewhere. In an essay yes, but this is a review, slightly different. Here you are weighing pros and cons to help readers decide if it is worth their while. Not just one point that you want to ram down their throats. That, is known as a rant.

I nearly entirely lost my voice today and I sounded like Jake Luhrs speaking amidst a wave of vomit.

So in other words you know nothing about vocals and should stop pretending such.

Your the reviewer, its not our job to make a point. Your job is to convince us that your opinion doesn't suck, and if you don't convince us. Our job is to shit on it. Making a point on the vocals would require us to sit down and actually soak in the album, which im sure you didn't do. This review comes off as a vendetta. You gave backstreet boys a 4.5 and august burns red a 2. Ironic coming from someone who vehemently declares anyone who disagrees with him a fag.

It's not our job to shit on a bad review, assholes do that though. And Palace has convinced me with this review. He's convinced me that he thinks the album and the vocals are terrible. And as the reviewer he is entitled to that opinion.

Im not the reviewer, once again not my job. Want me to prove my point. OK. The vocals are great and your an idiot (who do i sound like?). Your review is biased, it doesnt leave the reader any breathing room to form there own opinion. All it does is force a one-sided viewpoint. Instead of.

Vocals in this album do not impress, they lack emotion and feel. Such and such track has the weakest vocal performance on the album. I wanted a more powerful performance, Jake didnt deliver

We got something like this.

VoCalz Suk and Sounds Lyke Vomit!
