Boy is kinda similar in style but i feel this one’s tone is a bit unique. More desperate sounding in a good way. but everything from boy to Joshua tree is worth checking out imo

crazy how this discog has like 3 of the best albums ever made in it and that they sound nothing like each other (and that none of them are the joshua tree)

I listened to Boy and War in full for the first time this week, and was very pleasantly surprised. One needs to put away knowledge about what they’ve become. They kinda sound similar to early-era Simple Minds, and there’s even some Echo & the Bunnymen in there, which I dig a lot.

Yeah, that one stood out for me as well. Haven’t checked October yet, I know only Gloria, which I don’t like at all, but I guess it’s worth a try.

october is a big downgrade from both and is probably a bottom 5 u2 album in general but its worth a jam once for a couple of major keepers (mostly tomorrow and the t/t)
