Nah, I've basically listened to 3 albums over the past 2 months. Didn't really listen to anything new while I was on holiday. Am now trying to concentrate as much as I can on solely 2009 albums (or at least bands that have released an album this year).

Gave this album another listen & has not improved. Still one of the most disappointing releases this year for mine.
|
| |
Me too, I actually thought Lifeline was a pretty decent song
|
| |
Why the fuck would you listen to this again?

Well the fact that you got that much out of it Puddles is a positive. Lifeline is a little too straight-forward IMO.
Had to go for a drive today & I had basically nothing else in the car. It was either this or one of the albums I've just reviewed like Wes Carr or Merriweather, which I'm over and aren't a lot better.

MERRIWEATHER ISN'T A LOT BETTER THAN PAPA ROACH YEAH OKAY

Well, I rated 'Love & War' a 3 and this a 2 so yes there is quite a difference, but the point I was trying to make was that I have listened to Merriweather a lot of late & was over the album. I really wanted to listen to Karnivool or Arctic Monkeys or Anberlin (9 days to go), but didn't have any of them in the car unfortunately.

This album got me into music, It showed me an album can have a concept, the album contains no filler, It was catchy, fun and I can still listen to every single second of it and not get bored.
It had many 'epics' that showed me at the time songs could be more than 3 minute pop songs, and the whole album told a story which I just thought (at the time) was genius.
sure I later discovered bands like the limped bizkitz etc had done concept albums years before, but at the time I had heard nothing like it and it made me pick up a guitar which I am forever gratefull for. long story short, it got me into music. this is my favourite album.
All that happened quick considering this album's not even 5 months old
Also, cover art

Haha. But Titan, this is Papa Roach. They are as influential a band as The Beatles, Radiohead & Iron Maiden combined. They can have that effect on people. LOL.
|
| |
Yeah Papa Roach influenced loads of shitty bands that wouln't have otherwise had the confidence to start singing/playing.
Oh and Le Tissier Saints 32 vs 63 Tomlin Tornadoes. I know a single game means nothing, but goddamn it I'm gonna rub it in while I can.

"And so it starts. I had no idea Australians were sore losers..."
Admittedly, that made me LOL. I just had a bad mental picture of the Aussies losing the 5th test, Ricky Ponting king-hitting the umpires & Warnie running out on to the pitch to strike all the English down with beer bottles!
And yes, this album cover has energy, enjoyment & excitement... Much more than the album itself.
