man cc is one of THE most technical death metal bands out their...they almost go into the jazz metal categorie ...i dont care for the lyrics either myself..and they arent my favorite death metal band..but they ARE on of the originators of the genre, much the same as morbid angel and death..this album doesnt break any new ground but who cares?

I haven't listened to Cannibal Corpse in ages and can''t really see myself picking up any of their albums to listen through again. Ever. I don't hate on the band - I mean they're pretty okay they just don't give me a stiffy like some other bands in and out of the genre.

im with Hawks - i think their best was The Bleeding. in fact, that is probably one of my favorite Death Metal releases.
This, while quite solid, is pretty average for me. it also gets a tad dull, whereas The Bleeding was pretty addictive.

Pretty average album for me. I actually think Gore Obsessed is their best album. Kill is second, then this.

I like this album to an extent...half the album (priests of sodom, to decompose, beheading and burning, evidence in the furnace, carnivorous swarm, title track, skewered from ear to eye) is good. The other half (songs not mentioned) are boring. Pretty average overall. I think it lacks dynamics...it's hard to explain, but it feels a little bit too ordered, perfect and predictable.
