The second half is the best. Lounge Act, Stay Away, Something In The Way, Drain You, and Territorial Pissings are all awesome. On A Plain is factual filler, so it's not meant to be good.

In Utero blows every Nirvana album away. They perfected their sound on it.

Dude, Stay Away's one of the best.

I wish you'd stay away. BIATCH! Actually I prefer it to Come As You Are.

This album is great. ..doesn't matter if things don't get complicated...... why does not every brother in the grunge industry make it... just for "success"!.. i have been playing guitar for the last 7 years and its all power chords... but no 1 else but kurt could have made this record

There's little point in denying that this album has had a great influence on where alternative music stands today, if nothing else than at least for reminding lots of people that there is such a thing as 'alternative music', establishing a great playground for a lot of other arguably more innovative bands.

Besides, it's a more than decent album. "Breed" kicks total ass.

They didn't want to record Teen Spirit in the beginning because they thought it was too much of a Pixies rip-off.

Haha.

I used to think Territorial Pissings was the best song on the album along with Teen Spirit and Come as You Are lol but if i had to pick my favorite today it would prolly be On a Plain...

To francesfarmer. One of the top three albums ever made? You cannot be serious. They are not even the best band from Seattle. While they should be thanked for getting everyone else their shot they were quickly passed by many other bands. In my humble opinion, If Cobain had not killed himself, Nirvana would be just another band. Maybe even a one hit wonder.

Well, since they had two (three counting unplugged, but Kurt was dead by its release) hit albums that's kind of impossible.

Besides Kurt would have left Nirvana if he hadn't of died.

well despite how good the musicality is on the album, the fact in 2007 we're still talking about this album kinda makes it classic. it has a lasting impression.

On a cultural level its indeed a Classic album,

but musically its a little thin but still a good listen once in a while.

My two cents
