Love these guys and this album especially, but it gets beaten by dissection every time

Nah this beats every Dissection album

I enjoy Dissection far more than these guys. This album is very homogeneous and I get tired of it halfway through but usually finish it off fairly satisfied
i would accuse dissection of homogeneity more than these guys

Interesting. Lol. Every Dissection song on Storm feels like something brand new to me. I haven't given Somberlain quite enough listens yet though.
That 3 you gave to Storm tho D:

I prefer straight up DM to melo-death right now but melo-BM is really cool so far. Interesting...

Surprised you found it interesting, all caps as well so that indicates you must have found it very interesting indeed. It’s a little strange I must say but each to their own.

Internet sarcasm requirements are a little different to real life ones, I like to make it obvious, haha.

The sorrowful melodies on this are hauntingly beautiful, in a weird way.

Rated just so I can pre-date Pleb's rating (a rarity), Sputnik promotion level 1 achieved.

I 'beat you' to the rating of a metal album which is surprising & fills me with great pride.
|

As much as I love metal I tend to stick to what I know, my New Years resolution was to check more stuff.
However, this won't happen again dude...haha.

I'm leaning towards the more obvious classics (generally) & you will have heard those, so you're probably right. Unless you've never jammed Dog Fashion Disco/Polkadot Cadaver, loved them for years.
Edit: or Slugdge perhaps?
|
| |
Heard of both of those but haven't jammed.
