Thrice developed perfectly over the years. Maybe this is different to the first three albums, but it's extremely familiar, if you listened to Vheissu. And Vheissu is a perfect successor to The Artist In The Ambulance and well, there you go, the cycle is complete. Compare Vheissu to Beggars and it's different, compare Beggars to the Earth EP and it's familiar again. Again, this is not un-Thrice, it fits perfect to the band. I love them more than any other band, so maybe I do get a bit emotional when I read something like this about them.

^You're getting a little worked up, son. If you notice, above I said this is very well executed to be
from a band that doesn't produce music like this usually. I meant "un-Thrice" as having a different
sound than to be expected because if you notice, this is when they started changing majorly, but for
the better, imo. You took what I said and ran with it. I haven't given one of their cds anything lower
than a 4.5. They and Brand New have been my favorite bands for as long as I can remember.
On another note, "Silver Wings" gives me chills everytime.. Ahhh!

Got nothing more to say if you call me son. That obviously wins you the argument.

I'm really starting to enjoy Both editions of The Alchemy Index right now....

Me too...but I find that they are split into Highlights and Other Songs very clearly

I love Air but I find Earth to be pretty mediocre.
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
I can understand that. It's really slow and relaxed with the Earth Isn't Humming being the only standout track and they didn't even write that song

I don't mind slow and relaxed, I love Water, it's just the songwriting on there wasn't their best. Love Moving Mountains and Lion and the Wolf, rest is mediocre to me.
And that video you linked........ my god.

That's what I'm saying. I wish the album version kept the extra "Oh God"s that Dustin throws in there every single time they play it live. It's so sexy

My god, he's fucking unrelenting. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get THAT into the emotion of a
song as he does right there. It almost makes me want to bump my rating for this, because Air on its
own would be the hardest of 5's.

Do it. You know you want to ;]

Nah. But if they'd released the EPs separately from one another, Fire, Water and Air would be 5's. Earth is like 3.5 at the most.

I have them both at 4.5s but separately I'd keep Fire and Water the same but give Air a 5 and Earth a 4.

Not one weak song on Fire, Water or Air imo, they could've made their best album overall if they'd combined the three. As it is, Beggars >

Hey now, if you'd 5 Fire and Water separately, why wouldn't you 5 the album as a whole? O.o Beggars being your only 5'd Thrice? BLASPHEMY!

Actually yeah good point, I'll bump that. But nevertheless, Beggars is still the best.

It's their second worst in my opinion but it's got some of their best tracks on it. The bonus tracks are killer too

Damn, second to Identity Crisis I'm guessing? Harsh dude, I love all the tracks on there, and yeah Answered, Red Telephone and the Helter Skelter cover are fantastic. What's your favourite, Vheissu I'm guessing?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
Yeah second to Identity. What you don't know is that Thrice is my favorite band of ALLLLLL TIIIIIIIMMEEEEE so from a fanboy standpoint, I would 5 all of their records except for IC, which I'd 4. Trying not to fanboy too hard I have instead 4.5'd everything except Vheissu and Major/Minor at 5's and IC at a 4.
