I disagree. A guitarist(or any other musician) needs to know a lot about music to transfer those emotions to a sound that fits those emotions and gets the listener feeling them too. And that takes intellect. lol no

Yeah even though MAYH is my favorite from Opeth, the only really brutal song is Demon of the Fall. Some other songs like April Ethereal and When have brutal parts, but not as much as some people think.
