It wasn't released or his vocal take just didn't make the cut but he recorded something with Trent that didn't make the album. I'm pretty sure he was joking about only leaving it off cause Trent did the same thing though.

That's perfectly acceptable imo. Most fans you ask tend to like this more than The Downward Spiral. The atmosphere The Fragile creates is amazing and entirely different from that of The Downward Spiral. As well as probably being his most experimental album to date.
