Fuck yes, that's my ranking exactly. The production for Under a Funeral Moon was the best i think they ever achieved.
|
| |
yeah UAFM and this are best for me. I actually think i like Panzerfaust a bit more than TH though
|
| |
yeah panzerfaust is pretty good it was the first darkthrone album i listened to
|
| |
also their new stuff rules and if u disagree then FOAD
|
| |
TH is too iconic to rank lower, and the vocals on Panzerfaust bug me a bit (they're too high in the mix and don't have enough reverb, it needs to sound like their in the middle of a satanic gorge or something).
That aside, Hans Siste Vinter and The Hordes of Nebulah are top notch, nothing they ever did could top their first 4 BM albums.

why do people always ignore soulside journey? if they hadnt released such a perfect death metal album then they wouldn't have been forced to create/pioneer a new genre in order to keep making music
|

awesome assumption you have there

"Second Wave Norwegian Black Metal" is not a genre you idiot, like you claim it to be.
|
| |
its a shame users cannot be banned for stupidity and self-importance alone
|
| |
in all fairness crysis i think its reasonable to consider the first 2nd wave bands as pioneers considering how they basically created the sound we know as BM today whereas the first wave was for black/thrash or black/death sounding.
The whole thing about soulside journey being the epitome of DM is laughable though
|
| |
i think you are forgetting about Under The Sign Of The Black Mark
also Thorns's demos
|
| |
not saying they were the first but they were one of them and def one of the bands that helped popularize it

Yeah, Thorns' demos were tight.

My point was he claimed they
have been forced to create/pioneer a new genre
When 2nd wave norwegian bm is far from a genre in and of itself, and completely ignores what else was happening in the scene around the world. Norway wasn't the only country that had black metal bands in 1992, first wave or otherwise! ffs
