I still have yet to latch onto Kite String so I'm hoping this one hooks me a bit better

One of my favorite Metal albums, simply because it borrows some part from other genres. Its hard to categorize and that is why it is so good.
And the post-grunge tag fits like a dirty, stinky glove.

might be the best two-and-done band of all times 🤔

I havent heard this album but have heard the other album (kite string) as well as goatwhore, is this seriously post-grunge like this review says, though? If so that's fucking disappointing. How similar to creed/puddle of mudd is it? lol

I don’t think post-grudge actually means much (anything?), this sounds absolutely nothing like those bands anyway.
Bluesy stoner rock / sludge. I mean people say there’s some AiC vibes, but presumably that’s okay with you?

This is waaaaaaay bluesier / more languid. It’s a different vibe to Kite String. Not as intense but more of a consistent sound that would probably appeal to stoners more (i.e. no hardcore / DM). This is well worth checking, dare I say essential… some days I prefer this one.

Post-grunge sludge serial killer blues with a very tasteful dash of black metal.

I just vibe with this more now, less obnoxiously angry vox all the time. It gets kind of comical at times on WTKSP. This is a lot more restrained and I prefer the bluesiness / laid back sludgy stoner riffs, which this leans more towards. Riggs’s cleans are actually bloody good, too.
