this album really needs a remaster imo. and they need to get rid of the weird kelly clarkson vocal acrobatic allen does in wicked

As much as I enjoy this album, Wicked is honestly one of my least favorite Symphony X songs in general. Such a generic and boring song compared to everything else here, and quite a letdown after such an incredible opener like Inferno. Thankfully, things pick up again from Incantations onward

Maybe I am overrating their albums a bit atm, but I am going by my gut feeling. Amazing band

Well, maybe except debut, Damnation Game and Underworld. At least in my personal view, although the latter does still have its moments

I'd certainly consider Damnation a 4-worthy album. I'd argue it's really overlooked unfortunately because of Divine being released right after, which is a shame because there's some real good stuff on there too.

I have Damnation Game at a 4 as well. Definitely a few hiccups in terms of production, but the performances and songwriting are still excellent. And of course, Russell's vox were a massive leap up from Rod's

Also, the prelude of A Winter's Dream is one of my all-time favorite ballads by these guys. Such a beautiful chord progression, even if the synths are pretty dated now

As far as SX ballads go, nothing beats Swan Song

It's absolutely riddiculous that Russell is still as good regarding his age.

I mean, obviously, you can hear he's past his prime. Still, singing that well at the age of 51 (at the time of this recording)?
