the whole thing was tasteless. he broke any kind of cohesion the show had going for it for a sweet
spot to hype up his music [which fell flat, as it should have]. unfortunately it's as much outkast's
fault as it is his own because they actually okay'd that.
if you disagree just remember i'm being HONEST by future [out in stores april 22nd on epic. pre-order
on itunes now. please.]

I didn't watch the stream, and gather from the comments that it was lame and gimmicky
but
guys
come on
it's a Coachella stream. The fact that you are watching it and friggin commenting on a message board about it when you are presumably at least quite far away from the actual concert...doesn't it kind of validate any level of commercial bullshit? This festival is great but it exists to hawk shit, we should know this by now. It's been a thing for at least a few years. Love or hate what they did with their set, they are moving units and making hella cash from it. I think the rest of their summer shows will be less commercialized.
I should hope so anyway as I am seeing them at two festivals this summer!!!

Actually andre and big boi were pretty fun to watch though that crowd was fucking weak, you could tell by the end how disinterested boi and dre got by the end cuz they were so boring
Other than that and the future shit (plus how they cut 'em off with killer mike) tho it was good but there wasn't enough ATLiens
|
| |
Agreed Gwyn. It's sometimes difficult to tell on a YT stream, but the crowd seemed very dead until the big hits towards the end.
|
| |
Aids, you have a Killer Mike avatar and are defending the people who just kicked him off stage as soon
as he got on?
"they are moving units and making hella cash from it." lol wtf
|
| |
Meh, still doesn't justify Future's dumbass promotion whether I'm in the crowd or watching from a
stream [or the festival's presumably commercial interest]. But yeah there were plenty of great moments
otherwise ~

Outkast p much killed the vibe when they split for the solo songs

I loved the whole thing up until The Love Below songs
Elevators and The Way You Move were also incredible
|
| |
no, they killed the vibe when Idlewild was released, at least the double album had a somewhat-Outkast feel and DIDN'T suck balls

I was talking about the Coachella set but I think my point is still valid

dude did you even hear GhettoMusick Big Boi tore that one up

Big Boi did a good job but Dre was also off-stage finishing lines and it was weird
|
| |
yeah it was weird to break the show up like that. the whole point was about seeing them together, not split up doing their own thing like they've been doing for almost a decade now.

little late to this convo but I thought the move into solo material was a vibe killer as well and it seemed they were already putting in extra effort to keep the interest level up. Maybe keeping them both on stage and trading off shortened versions of each members solo material might have helped.. But hey, I don't know maybe there was no way around the crowd losing interest
|
| |
I thought the solo material was fine, if anything was a vibe killer it was killer Mike coming on stage and saying he would perform regardless of them being out of time and outkast just awkwardly starts saying goodbye to the crowd
Also as I mentioned bringing the girl out to sing after ghetto musicians was the most a I climactic thing if ever seen in a concert
