I can never get into this album no matter how much I try.. I hate those BDM vocals, and the sound of that snare just grinds at me on so many levels

the only thing that bothers me about this is sometimes there are jarring transitions from brutal riffs to more uplifting or hopeful sounding riffs, and sometimes the brutal death metal vox over those riffs just sound out of place (like that opening growl on To Become Shelter and Salvation). minor complaints when looking at the big picture though, i fucking love this album.
normally id agree with you about the snare, cosmo, but the guy relies a lot on the snare and is sometimes doing ridiculously fast beats with it, so the sound is kind of necessary so that it doesnt become unintelligible when hes beating the shit out of it.

That depends. I dont think that would happen with these guys, they seem creative enough to not make futile attempts to recapture the old days. I think if they did release another album it would be at least a 3.5
