It's not that I ever disliked Dance Of December Souls (it's a great debut album)...but I find this album MUCH more satisfying personally. Borderline classic album too, IMO.

By Anders' admission, BMD was an attempt at fusing shoegaze w/death-doom metal...hence why I've considered it "doomgaze" or even "metalgaze" (though I know post-metal is sometimes associated w/the latter).
