Yeah, even I have to disagree with that. Good call.

I think i'm going to buy this if I find it cheap. I like what i've heard off this album, even a little piece of heaven is pretty catchy, which the video has been reposted on you tube.

Have a soft spot for a7x, COE and WTF. If I find this album used for cheap I might buy it. New, no way. Critical Acclaim, Afterlife and Lost were decent. Some of the other songs not so much.

Hmm...I honestly used to hate Avenged Sevenfold, primarily because their fans are probably the worst and most despicable people on this planet. And they wouldn't shut up when Coheed & Cambria was playing (certainly one of the top 5 bands of the past decade).
However, after they played a blazingly great show, and demonstrated pure mastery of the guitar with their City of Evil set list, I became one of their fans (minus the white trash behavior).
I have learned to treat Avenged Sevenfold for what it is - fun, heavy, guitar thrash-tastic rock with a solid fitting lead singer.
Put down the keyboard, table your musical snobbery and enjoy one of the most fun albums I've heard in a while.
Oh yeah, and drink in those guitar riffs...

"There are good ideas buried within the track and the musicianship is superb, albeit with the exception of the band members..."
Hmmm.....Oh yeah that's right I forgot you were such an accomplished musician making millions of dollars and that you went to GIT for jazz schooling. Your criticism is superb, albeit the wanking of a self-important music journalist.

I should probably lower my rating even more but Afterlife and Brompton Cocktail and Lost are just really good.
Good, I am not the only one who likes Brompton Cocktail.

I hate Dear God so much. That twangy guitar is the worst thing I have ever heard. This album is pretty much all about Afterlife, Brompton Cocktail, Unbound (The Wild Ride), and yes, A Little Piece of Heaven.

Critical Acclaim is much better live than it is on record, because they get rid of that stupid fucking rant.

Sputnik doesn't have a rating low enough for this album.

Afterfully listening to this album I maintain my original opinion which was formed prior to hearing any of it...
It is awful.
Only track I could slightly stomach was Critical Acclaim.
Also, unless my hearing has failed me...aren't the same two arpeggios used in the solos and lead parts most of the time, including the piano section in Unbound?
Without trying to sound pretentious, I'm glad I moved on from this band a long time ago.
