the more I think about this band, the more I get upset that I checked them out too late. Saw that they were opening for Faith No More one time...what a Line Up. Guess I can only hope that they will do some kind of reunion tour so I can catch them live at least one time. This album is btw one of the most consistent I've ever listened to. finally 5'ed it cuz I realised that I also 5'ed other album on which I disliked 1 or even 2 songs (Street Carp on White Pony for example).

Try to catch Vennart live (it is the front man's "solo" project, but two other members of Oceansize are involved). They play 2-3 'size songs in their set
The second Vennart album (which was released last year), is the closest thing to a new Oceansize album we got so far. Though it feels a more positive/optimistic, while Oceansize always feels undefinably both positive and depressing at points

Agreed. Love what he's doing with it, but for me Oceansize was as much as about morose post-rock as it was prog pyrotechnics. Even earlier jam tracks like Rinsed and Mine Host do slightly more for me than Vennart's solo stuff - but I'll check anything he puts out regardless

Mine Host and Meredith... damn those are tracks i return to on a weekly basis since i first started listening to them. What an atmosphere, especially on bad days those are some calming tracks
