Good review, despite all the hate. This site really needs to drop this whole Pos/Neg thing because people Neg because they disagree with the rating often.

The second half is much better IMO, Ants in the Sky, Viridian and White Walls being my favorite tracks. I still don't care for his harsh vocals tho.

His harsh vocals are a bit lacking, but the album is pretty kickass, just not as good as Sputnik thinks so. All the staffers jizz for this album.

Sun of Nothing isn't bad the rest just bores me though.

I think it's a bit boring and the vocals suck, but the instrumentation and variety here is incredible.

The vocals are probably the weakest part of the album, but they've grow on me to a point where I like them a lot now. The instrumentation makes this album though, album of 07, slightly better than Moonsorrow.

Speaking of Moonsorrow, they're prob the only band with harsh vocals I've heard that I dislike the harsh vocals more than this album. Strangely enough, I actually like what harsh vox I've heard on Alaska.

Wow, this album bored me. And I listen to Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Nile, Opeth, and generally plenty of bands who are very wanky indeed, but at least those bands don't make a whole album which is an extension of a normal songs' bridge section.

at the very least, this album should get a 4. that's if you're an absolute death metal hater. this has to be one of the most terrible reviews i've ever read. he says he doesn't know what they were on when they wrote this album? man, i have no clue AT ALL what he was on when he wrote this review. learn to appreciate music.

got this for 10 bucks at Wal-Mart tonight. Let's see how it stacks up to all the high praise it has gotten.

lol j/k. I'm not a huge BTBAM fan, but I'm gonna go with what a lot of other people will probably say and recommend The Silent Circus.

There's probably a good chance that if you work through their discography and then check this out that you'll appreciate it more than I did. Alaska is my favorite album from these guys.
