Now that I've heard everything from Chronic Town-Monster all I can say is that R.E.M. consistently write albums worth checking

Even Fables, Out of Time, and Monster had huge stand out moments

It’s what happens when your one of the best bands of all time. Hated by few, appreciated by many, loved by lots, created classics everyone likes.

"Ween they ain’t."

Ween's amazing, but irrelevant to this conversation, especially since they're a drastically different band

This is one of the GOAT late-night studying jams, prefer Automatic and Reckoning though

This is just one of the GOAT albums period. If this isn't on your top ten albums that birthed alternative rock you should feel bad and probably never talk about music again.

I love so much of everything this band did up until the mid 90s and yet still nothing they did seems to match Murmur. Maybe it's nostalgia, I don't know, I just know that these songs elicit such a huge emotional reaction from me even still all these years later and it's an album I feel I can recommend to anyone.

Probably biased though. R.E.M. were basically my introduction to actual "popular" music, when I repeatedly asked my mom to replay the song "Losing My Religion" as a five year old, and of course it was the radio so my mom obviously couldn't do that, but for years that was my favorite song as a kid and still one of my all time favorites.

Right? Catapult RULES! Check out the live version on the Deluxe Version of this album, even better!

This album is just timeless man. I can't even describe the feelings it stirs in me.
