I only got into them when they brought out their special edition reissues. In fact I bought this on a hunch based on the album cover, it just looked like it was epic. Thankfully I was right.

Other than its role as a subgenre pioneer, I don't really see what's so great about this album. The vocals are meh and there's lots of melody, but little of it is memorable or catchy. (imho of course)

Necroticism and Symphonies are much better. Swansong kind of sucks compared to their other album though

I love Jeff Walker's vocals on this, they're among my favorite in the genre tbh.
And this is the only Carcass album I really like tbh. Luckily this is classic.
