Jammed "Brotherhood?" today. Those synths rule. Of course Nardi needs no introduction.

The fact that this is the highest rated Anacrusis is laughable, but not surprising. Sputnikmusic is home to many posers who know nothing about metal and cannot form their own opinions.
Let me tell you straight off the bat, this is far from the 'Progressive Thrash' label that gets stuck to this album. The first four songs have some moments - excluding the keys, but then it's a huge drop in quality. The tracks Grateful and Brotherhood don't get more pop-metal than this.
I wonder whose idea was it to stick the horrendous $20 bargain bin Casio keyboard on 'Too Many Prophets' ? I could have given the track a pass if there were no ridiculous keyboards. Well maybe not, because the spoken vocals near the end of the song are terrible. 'Tools of Separation' has the same problem with the keys, though not as bad.
It's clear the band were out of ideas at this point. It's no wonder they broke up... Pop choruses, cheesy keyboards, mid-tempo riffing, and lots of filler. The vocals are weaker, the drumming is worse, and the only memorable moment are the leads on My Soul's Affliction. Funny because that song is a ripoff of a Voivod. It even sounds like Kenn Nardi is trying to imitate Snake.
If your looking for real progressive music, you have come to the wrong place.
