This album is extreme subtle brilliance. It's amazing how something that could be seen as a whole lot of nothing can be so satisfying to listen to. It has a great peaceful and relaxing quality, especially New Grass. Absolutely beautiful music. Yet, at the same time a lot of it is interesting somehow. Some parts can get tiresome or boring if you're not in the right mood and it can be hard to get into but I found myself enjoying it more the more I listened to it. I am also really into Spirit of Eden and I enjoy The Colour of Spring as well. Mark Hollis has a really special voice. I really respect what this band did and have a great appreciation of their latest albums.



What's so cool is that as drastic a transition as they had, it seems natural somehow and I don't get the impression that they did it to start a trend or something but because it was what they truly felt to do.

The Colour of Spring has a few great moments though, like 'Life is what you make it' and 'Living in Another World'. Sooo good.
