Cheesy or not this band rules hard, they are really good at the songwriting departament and their lyrics are well constructed, like it or not, besides is diverse, funny and their live shows are very good. Most of the detractors of bands like these claim to hate this just because of the fantasy and sci fi topics or because a nerd in their class loved this band, those arguments are lame as hell, metal fan bases are diverse and contains a lot of people and the way that allen and more deal with the histories and topics in their album is not that different from the way that many people in books, series or movies have constructed those histories

They are different so comparing them is pointless, besides DT was untouchable since images until train of thought. Sadly they lost part of the intensity and they ran of ideas faster than before
