A very well written review about an excellent album.

I just got this album today. Not as good as I thought it would be simply because it becomes 'samey' after the first 4 songs. Still, its a solid effort and I'm sure a few more listens will reveille more and bump my rating up. This Message Edited On 12.25.07

The whole album kicks serious ass. They've really accomplished something special with this album (as with the rest of their albums).

I grew bored of this album after 4 or 5 listens. The symphony elements are cool but their punky take on metal grows stale to me really fast. Hyped!

You're dumb. And when I say dumb, I mean like, "holy shit what the hell is wrong with you?"

Sorry, thats what I meant! I was a little tired when I posted that.

You're dumb. And when I say dumb, I mean like, "holy **** what the hell is wrong with you?"

I'm sorry, I didn't realize your opinion was clearly king to mine! You must be the almighty God of music and therefore I bow down to you. I'm sure there is a band around here that you find to be overrated that everyone else praises. Think about that one for a second while you take your head out of your ass.

Anyways, I find that the least intelligent people around here are the ones who bash others opinions.

If you don't like this that much then you probably don't understand the concept of the album or why the way they executed it is something special. They really have created something that's close to being transcendent with this. You really, and I mean really, have to dig into this album to figure out what it's all about.

It took me a little while to make a few associations outside of the album that they're making references to (it's largely in relation to their previous album). I feel like they poured so much creativity into not just the music, but the thematic elements and concept as well. I didn't really like this that much until like a month or two ago.

masscows,

I've always been more into music than themes and lyrics. Thats just my preference and I don't really give a shit if I get it or not. The music doesn't sound all too impressive to me and the lyrics are half audible to begin with.

It took me a little while to make a few associations outside of the album that they're making references to (it's largely in relation to their previous album).

Plus, you said in this post^^^^ that the themes in this album connect with the last album which I haven't heard yet. So really, how can I get it?

I'm not judging you on why you like this album so why are you judging me? Starting to cry.......................This Message Edited On 01.06.08

Musically I can see this as a hit or miss. With this album, they're more or less taking cliche'd thrash metal (intentionally) and adding their own unique twists. Like the interview with Mirai says, it's supposed to be bombastic as hell so the symphonies aren't supposed to be used in a balanced and tasteful way. It's intentionally cliche and ridiculous.

With that in mind, I think they did a great job pulling off what they set out to do from a musical perspective, and the theatrics/concept push it over the top for me as far as quality goes.

Fair enough masscows, I see where your coming from now and I will make more of an effort to listen to this album more thoroughly! Just don't go making people cry around here.
