Second only to In The Nightside Eclipse. Absolute masterpiece.

Everytime I jam this I can't believe how freaking heavy it is. I mean it often goes into this kind of black/death territory from the DM-ish drum sound and blatantly fast blasts+fills to crazy neoclassical arrangements on the synths/guitars with Ihsahn's epic vox. Plus atmosphere is out of this world

Ye Entrancemperium goes sooooo fucking hard, those guitars are furiously evil. and I love how hard the blast beat comes in, just to get 2x faster 10 seconds later. and the way it transitions from Alsvartr just enhances the awesomeness.

Always thought alsvartr should end after he says "I am the emperoooooor" or whatever. The actual ending is kinda goofy imo

I like how it gets all grandiose and shit, like a march that would follow an army of brave knights going to war or something lol, and then just degrades into hell with that single drum fill and feedback noise
Open gates to darker lands
We spread our wings and fly away

Nachthymnen and Opus IV were better albums than this and did the exact same things as this. Sure, Abigor wasn't Norwegian but they were far more innovative in the mid'90s.
