This album is great! Just because one has a prior opinion about a certain band, one would rate even a good album poorly. Such is the case with this review.

I've never really cared for Machine Head, but I do need to check out this album.

I know. Besides Rob Flynn's awful vocals, the music is top notch and catchy as hell. Plus, "Slanderous" has to contain one of the best metal riffs from the entire MH catalogue.

Guitars are really good on this album. flynn and emmel definitely stepped it up.
Flynn's vocals/lyrics are mostly terrible. Abundant use of 'fuck' =/= good songwriting. Makes me cringe when I hear it used as much as it is on this album.

I hate when he does that half growl/ half singing tone. Ewwwwww
And yeah, I probably would have this rated at a 5 if I was 12. The overuse of the word 'fuck' doesn't sound professional in the least.

1st of all...your review was well written. Secondly, Personally i don't think it could be farther from the truth.
After listening to it, I almost felt like I had the same reaction i have to listening to Iron Maiden, Pantera, Black label Society. Wanting to hear it again.
Since it's release the masses have spoke, and the hype was called for. Live this band has stage presence, and you can tell they appreciate every fan they have( by the look of it that list is growing) and want to put on a good show.
The album was well produced, and well written.
And by the way , what is wrong with appealing to a genre? Isnt that what all bands want? To maybe have a chance to be popular some day? I'd Rather appeal to a large spectrum and have lots of good reviews by alot of popular mags than be unpopular n broke n get one good review, Which would probably be on here.
Sorry, Just my opinion
