It's hard for me to rate one Bodom album better than the other. Something Wild, this, Follow the Reaper, and HCDR are equally the same for me. I will say that Are You Dead Yet is their worst.

This is my favourite Bodom album, FTR coming in second. I love playing Towards Dead End on guitar. It's fun.

Does anyone agree that this is more of a Black Metal album with Power Metal influences. This doesnt really match their later Melodic Death Metal style. This is definitely in my top 3 COB albums.

I've always heard these guys and the like to be referred to as "extreme power metal". The more and more I listen to this album the greater it gets.

I've only heard it about 3 times, but each time its been very good. Their frontman sure knows his 6 strings.
Great vocals too. The album's just a bit samey at times. I suspect the rating will go up in the future though.

Well I decided I'm going to attempt to get into Children of Bodom after hearing so many negative points about them from my friend at work. I figured I'd give them a shot myself. Would this be a good album to start off with Shadows?

Children of bodom pretty much got me into heavier metal than I usually listen to, but i never listen to death/black.
