"never listened to this band and I dont think its worth it to start now"
Yeah tbh i think that's the disconnect I was never a Brand New fan prior to the Jesse thing so this is about as much as I'm gonna get.
this has happened with stuff i loved too, i dropped i the mighty's satori out of my 5's when the brent walsh allegations came out and refuse to return, and that one hurt badly. i can't imagine how i'd feel if i loved this for years.

Sputnik essential I didn’t think there was a user left that hadn’t heard it. Honestly impressed.

tbh if it wasnt for green baron begging me to the point where he wanted to literally physically send me a cd of it, i would've avoided this even longer lol i've spun it exactly twice and i refuse to let this take over my head, i only knew deja, science fiction and like a little bit of daisy before the jesse stuff came out

tbh i think that this being one of the 60 highest rated albums of all time on this site means that any site regular has to listen to it, especially with how tied into our history it is. even if you don't love it on that level, it would be strange to be here and just completely have this be a giant question mark

this is just making me think about how much i have unrated from the top lists ngl. not even sure why i never got into hendrix or miles davis, but i gotta eventually experience their music
|

i don’t think you’ll enjoy them tbh
|

tbh every time I see someone disregard a band I like as a “brand new clone” I am just thankful I don’t have to constantly make the comparison. ignorance is bliss.
