I swear I won't take it personally.

All my ratings are probably wrong. No ranking yet. I haven't listened to half of their discography in two years.

What are your top 5 favourite albums by them?
|

Album Rating: 5.0
And their worst!
|

Probably (probably)
Morningrise
Orchid

Blackwater Park
My Arms, Your Hearse
Watershed

| |
Album Rating: 5.0
So the first two are your favourites and the last two, the ones you enjoy the least?
|
| |
These are top 5. Best to weakest. The line was just because the top 2 are the ones I am most sure of.

I see! Believe it or not, but our ratings are VERY close. Weird, considering how our tastes hardly overlap.

My top 5 would be (in no particular order)
Morningrise
Still Life
My Arms, Your Hearse
Blackwater Park
Orchid
On certain days, I'd replace My Arms with Damnation.

Interesting but I need to reevaluate everything so that ranking might mean nothing : )

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts again once you relisten to their stuff, Ghandilion.
Disconnected, our top 5 are the same, nice. Also, nice avatar ;)

My opinion of Damnation was fairly negative the last time I listened to it. Not a fan of the moody porcupine tree influenced stuff. Same story with post 2000s Katatonia.
....I guess I'm not a fan of Steven Wilson + Opeth ... but I like Storm Corrosion

That's a shame. I love post-2000s Katatonia. Specifically, Viva Emptiness onwards. Albums like Discouraged Ones are kinda bland, because all the tracks just blend into one - they are basically indistinguishable. Porcupine tree are pretty boring besides like two albums.

Porcupine Tree are great. In my punk as fuck days I’d have laughed and slagged it off relentlessly but nowadays I can appreciate it all. My life is enriched by a bit of Lightbulb Sun I can tell ya.

"Discouraged Ones are kinda bland, because all the tracks just blend into one"
I think most of Katatonia songs blend together, it's just their alt rock albums do it in a way that doesn't interest me at all.
I'm a fan of pre 2000s Porcupine Tree. Though I need to revisit them as well.

I really like Deadwing and Fear, that's about it. The rest just kind of makes my attention float away and bugger off elsewhere. The Sky Moves Sideways is pretty cool too.

I can get behind that opinion. In fact, I used to think that too, but if you listen closely you start noticing cool little subtleties that effectively contribute to the uniqueness of each song.

@Pikazilla So your top 5 is the exact same order? Nice. What about the rest?
