I really think he should've found the way to work the first sample throughout the whole song, that could've worked, but I can't help but think that song meanders especially the first beat change is total ?

I gotta listen to it again paying attention to how the story transitions with the beat, the story of the song is pretty compelling

Beat switches up again when Kendrick introduces his dad from Chicago; adds a few more elements when he explicitly names Ducky

Back to the reversed beat when he resumes the narrative of how the two meet



Duckworth is a fucking brilliant work of structure in hip hop. I don't know how you cant like this shit.
