Will O The Wisp sucks Ian Anderson's old ass.
It's ok if you like ATM, I guess.

Ahahah, Egarran, the dislike goes deep! ''When the drums come in at half time it's like I'm 95 years old and in a hospice waiting to die.'' Haha!
It's easy to see why though, this certainly is so disappointing. I see it somewhat more positively than you. I like Flowers, Wisp, Sojourn, and Fleeting Glance. But the bookends and the production and the total lack of adventure make for an ultimately weak effort and their worst record imo (to date...).

"When there's trouble admitting that you have been wrong all along
When the words you have written down reads "everything is gone."
At least Mikael seems to be aware of his problems.

The solo in Will O' the Wisp is one of my favorite Opeth moments, and I say that as someone who largely prefers the band's older work to their new stuff

I put on Wisp and I thought wow I don't remember these shitty Phil Collins drums? Then I quickly realized that I accidentally started this video when the song started https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw_Bd-13YCk

The production is awful, it's waaaaay too warm/bass-heavy/blown-over or something. Makes everything sound awful. A Heritage-like production would increase my enjoyment of this soo much.
