This one you have to look as more of a cohesive piece with a certain ebb and flow. The highest points being Moon Above, Sun Below and River. Man the jam section in the later track is so good

River is sooo cool agreed. Love the fun they're clearly having in that track.

there are some really nice moments on this. The highs beat anything of heritage and sorceress imo. River is beautiful

The highlights do beat everything on Sorceress, agreed, but Heritage is miles ahead of this imo.

River is beautiful [2]

The drumming in the first minute of Eternal Rains sure is. Wish this line-up was put to better use, it's excellent.

Yeah, Eternal Rains and River are highlights for sure. Both of them rule very hard.

Fuck the drumming on eternal rains... the whole proggy intro is cool but come on... the rest of the song with its soft melodies trumps the proggy king crimson aspects

I prefer this to both Heritage and Sorceress. Some tight songs here.

I wish more parts here were as cool as the beginning of Eternal Rains

Moon Above Sun Below takes the cake here tbh. Such a strong song with so great melodies, it's incredible. Sorceress is a little better then I remember as well

Moon has never really clicked for me yet, but it seems to get a lot of appreciation for sure. That horrible production on Sorceress just makes everything sound annoying to me, but I'll try it again soon. The time has come.

For some reason the produdtion didn't make it sound bad with the speaker I used so maybe that's what made it a little better for me.

Moon is kind of like a track off Orchid or Morningrise tbh and it's one of the first tracks that really clicked with me. PC was my second Opeth album though

Oh wow jammed this in its entirety for the first time in forever and it's like I found a "new" album. Cusp is dodgy but the rest all slaps. Didn't even remember River and Voice of Treason becoming this good in their second halves.

River is amazing agreed. One of their best from the post-Heritage era.

Moon is cool...Album seems more consistent than Sorceress. Which doesn't mean I like it better.

I've literally thought this was called Pale Communication for 5 years. It wasn't until I tried searching for it in spotify and not finding it that I realized.
