I'm studying english teaching and there's this subject called phonetics and phonology in which you learn symbols which are used to pronounce the words called "phonemes" and you have to transcribe texts and learn theory such us features of connected speech which are modifications that are made to words when a person is talking. I't kinda fun to learn but it's really heavy to study it the right way.
