heart ofc still cemented up there. i remember the first time i heard jesse let out that high ass f5 at the end and i was almost knocked out of my seat with how blown away i was lmao. invent prob rounds out my highest tier nowadays but its an album of all 5/5 songs anyway

in all fairness i am above all else a melody boi and thats the song most devoid of it lol but thats more an "its not you its me" deal. i kinda get ya re: pattern interrupt that first chorus has always sat a little wonky to me but then it dips down for that gorgeous bridge and jesse corrects the course by resolving the 2nd chorus much better than the first one and im like "helll yea" lol
he in general this period does that a lot where he changes each repetition of the chorus slightly to make each succeeding one better and it fuckin owns so much. frostbite and the architect are some of my favorite examples of that
