I adore “Night on the Sun” but I actually have a hard time seeing how it would’ve fit into the flow of this album. Everything here is perfectly placed already.

I know it’s criticized quite often, but I love What People Are Made Of as the closer. It’s this unexpected burst of energy. The one-two punch of Lives and Life Like Weeds are so heavy and you can tell Isaac was in a dark place at the time, but that burst closing the album feels like Isaac saying fuck it, my life sucks right now but I’m moving on.

What people are made of is the perfect closer for this. I can't think of a more apporiate ending as Brock screaming that people are nothing more than water and shit

Yeah that Dogs-Paper Thin-Rat is the worst stretch on the album for me. Pretty much why this is a 4 rather than 4.5. If Night on the Sun was here, definite 4.5 — maybe even a 5.

I dunno, this is pretty much between 4 and 4.5 for me. Might have to bump sometime soon.

“Paper Thin Walls” is amazing, only wish it didn’t basically just repeat itself for the whole second half.

Rat is basically classic too though.

Well damn. Rats is actually my fav of the three lol. Dogs just feels too slight. And Paper Thin Walls just has never clicked with me.

“Laugh hard, it’s a long ways to the bank” is one of my favorite sections on the album tbh.

I just think Dogs is actually one of his best lyrics tbh. I mean the end line gives me full body chills. and "my mother's cryin blood dust now".... fuck

Good pick, I appreciate this one a lot more than I did back in the day.

Releasing this on a big label like Epic could've been a disaster
