Matthew Good Band is fair amount darker than 3EB, so don't expect much comparison aside from the fact that theyre both 90s/early millenium rock bands.

I listened to Beautiful Midnight last night and found it boring. I think 90's rock just isn't my thing.

Well if you weren't around for the 90s, yeah, it very well may be boring.

I was around for the nineties and I still find it boring for the most part. I know there has to be a good nineties rock album out there somewhere that resonates with me; I just haven't found it yet.

You literally don't like one 90s rock album? I find that hard to believe man.

I mean like, AROUND for the 90s, not ALIVE for them.

I hesitate to recommend anything else from the 90s for fear that you'll call it "boring" lol.

Beautiful Midnight is anything but boring. Emotionally gripping and honest, choc full of interpretation/metaphor, plenty of melody, youthful angst, its brooding, haunting, image invoking... I could ramble on forever about that album.

I didn't say I didn't like any; I actually like this album for the most part. I just haven't found one that really "grips" me, like how Beautiful Midnight has gripped Hopelust ^.

Well just off the top of my head, some canadian rock bands that existed in the 90s and put out worthwhile material are I Mother Earth, The Tea Party, The Tragically Hip, Our Lady Peace, Big Wreck...

The amount of amazing stuff from the '90s is insane to me. Easily the best decade for music, in my opinion.
