One day my beliefs will be household, and nobody shall laugh at me then!

But no just because Pantera werent doing it doesn’t mean it doesn’t sound like their later stuff. I don’t understand why y’all seem to think I’m claiming Pantera of time travel or something. Never said Metallica were trying to “ride Pantera’s wave” but they were clearly influenced by eachother. They used to hang out and smoke weed with eachother during the CFB days. Even Rex Brown admitted this album was extremely influential to their sound and that they listened to it “probably a million times”. Groove metal basicslly doesn’t exist anyways; it’s just a mid paced take of another genre, like thrash, nu, or heavy metal.

I can hear what he means. Sad But True is a half-time stomper, similar to what Pantera does all the time

Sad But True goes hard, definitely one of my favourites here.

Still think Nothing Else Matters is brilliant, too.

I'm always cool to hear a live rendition but I could go the rest of my life without hearing the album version again.

There's some groovy elements yeah, but I'm not following the Pantera comparison.

The God That Failed and Of Wolf and Man are the best tracks on here for me.

The Unforgiven is magic. The album a whole is just a tad too long, samey and safe imo

Just heard an interview with Lars about S/M 2. Which is super lame of course!

But they played something from it and James sounded better than ever. I guess the therapy worked!
