I generally do, but I tend to like my metal a bit more gritty these days. I even though Between The Buried and Me were a bit too over polished (even though it's less than this) in my opinion but it was still good stuff. But I grew up with this album, so I woulnd't have it any other way

Good parenting up there. I got into PT and DT when I was like 11 cos of my dad and it was a huge difference to all the pop nonsense I was listening to back then

In terms of this band I grew up with Deadwing and foabp, wish I heard this first honestly. Still can't decide which one is best

Deadwing. Always Deadwing. I'm glad I didnt hear Deadwing first because younger me overplayed FOABP to the point of saturation for years to come

I still need to hear that. Along with all their other pre lightbulb sun albums

Sky moves sideways is probably my favourite for pre IA albums

You mean why I haven't heard their 90s albums? They're like impossible to find I just pirated them a few weeks ago. Plus my younger self was more into metal when I heard DW and FOABP, so it's just as well. I'd probably appreciate their 90s stuff more now anyway

Title track on sky moves sideways is perfect, especially phase 1 and you don't even need to be in psych to get into that. There's some great stuff on every album, even on the Sunday of life

Radioactive toy, nine cats and Linton Samuel Dawson are decent from that, but the rest is a huge cringefest

Isn't it really poppy, like even more than their other 90s albums?

I'd say Stupid Dream is their pop album. I'd hardly call a song like Jupiter Island pop at all...

My fav would be Signify from that era, but UTD AND TSMS are both top tier stuff too.

Waiting phase 1 2 and sever are the only tracks I like from signify, but the other stuff isn't too bad I guess. Just not as appealing. Up the downstair is the one I struggle with the most to be honest

It's some of their most emotional, engrossing and original stuff imo. Especially Phase Two.
