But people saying DGD getting better with each era and the Andrew dickriding on reddit i dont get. Dude is a good vocalist but far from a perfect fit here

Just gave the whole thing a listen (am I allowed to say that here still?), man what the fuck happened to this band? It has a couple of cool riffs sprinkled throughout and Matt still kills it on the drums but other than that it's so.. Bland. None of it's catchy, nothing had a chorus or hook of which I thought ''that's gonna be stuck in my head''. There's also these random sections of autotuned (I assume Will Swan) vocals, super deep vocals (???), Jon pretending he's a pirate, Japanese (latest single), a news reporter mumbling something in one of the tracks and a whole lot of ''fuck the haters, we do what we want!!!'' lyrics. I seriously don't get what they were going for here. I loved zany DGD, DBMII is one of my favourites, but it feels so forced here, like how Jon's lyrics changed into memespeak during the Tilian era, rather than odd stuff he just wrote before that 'cause it rhymed. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't something as shit as this.

remember when tilian gave matt mingus a ton of shit for being drunk at a show? mingus seems like a saint compared to everyone else in the band, also the most consistent member of this shit band.

Matt's great but man his drumming was so much more interesting on earlier DGD records. Happiness in particular he had some incredible grooves.

On a positive note the new Hail The Sun single that released was really cool.

They literally reached a point where they're now forcing themselves to write new music so they can maintain their track record of putting out a new hour-long full-length every two years and have a dime a dozen non-album singles sprinkled around it at the cost of none of it really sounding exciting.
