I just think a lot of metal remasters suck the life out of the recording. There's obviously some albums where there is a distinct problem in the recording but unless it literally hurts me to listen to it (Flesh Prevails), or it's distracting (As the Palaces Burn), I usually just embrace that as a characteristic of the moment.
I feel like people very rarely used to complain about the production until we entered the Fantano era, and always wondered if those who did came from other genres or weren't metal >>> everything like degenerates like me. IDK, it would be an interesting conversaton I think.
