think this is my favorite album of all. absolute perfection. I'll always cherish the time I saw them live and Don held out his guitar to create a droning effect for the closing song and let the fans drape their hands across his strings.

This would be perfect if The Grain was like one third its length and led into Scars of the Shattered Sky as the last song.

Strong disagree - Scars was wisely cut, would have made the album like 30% drone. It's a good song and completely fits the theme of the album but one of the best parts of this album is that it never overstays its welcome and still manages to cover so much ground.

[2] Scars would be a nice EP for someone into that style, but to stick it on the end of this as part of their most accessible album would be bizarre, and really hinder the flow of this. The Grain is already too much IMO.
