2019 should be fucking crazy, though.

What's on the menu for 2019?
|

"What's on the menu for 2019?"
Uhh...MAYBE Tool lmao
Candlemass, Deftones, Carcass, Darkthrone, Devin Townsend, King Diamond, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Napalm Death, Slipknot (shut up, I'm gonna jam it), Testament, Nile, new Morbid Angel/Cryptopsy side project, Fear Factory (I liked Genexus a lot so I'm excited), etc
|
| |
@parksungjoon It's real good, I have it 5ed but I'm a total fanboy so that's probably a biased rating. Chlorine and Wine is in my top 10 songs of all time tbh
@Lucca are we really getting new Mastodon too? Damn, color me excited. EoS grew off me hard but I'm still psyched to see what's next for them.
|
| |
yea man i bet, just never found the time and eventually forgot :[
fuckin
|

@Lucca
I expect listenable though not exactly elite work from all of those bands myself tbh

@Thalassic - If Tool ACTUALLY comes out with their album this year as promised, I hope that will be better than just listenable, although who knows.
Devin Townsend could be OK or it could be amazing, as per his track record. Slipknot will be nostalgic fun for me, same goes for Fear Factory. If the David Vincent/Cryptopsy side project is even remotely listenable, I'll be ecstatic after Illud Divinum Insanus. And I really enjoyed Lamb of God's last album so I'm hoping they keep up the pace with this one.
@Komp - Fuck yeah dude, hopefully they keep up the hill that they've been climbing with their last album m/ Tbh the only albums I truly love by them are their first four but I keep holding out hope that they'll release another classic
Really all that matters is that Meshuggah is probably releasing another album in 2020 so I'm much more excited for that, being the fanboy that I am

how many years has "new tool album" been a meme for

I remember first hearing that a couple years after 10,000 days, so maybe 2008?
|
| |
sounds about right to me

@ Lucca
I'm hoping for a few surprise drops myself. Bands barely known outside of the deeper underground that release a juggernaut with a first full-length release. Like Spectral Voice or Venenum in 2017 or Vein this year (Tomb Mold could apply as well, but Manors was apparently their second even if it's the first by the band people really cared about)

@Thalassic - I have no doubt that my favorite albums of next year will be shit I have never heard of. Before a couple months ago, I have never heard of Rolo Tomassi, KEN Mode, Daughters, and several others which are all my favorite albums of the year. Very few bands that I knew of prior even made my top 10 of this year lol

@Lucca Yeah I'm the same, had never heard of these, The Ocean and Aviations out of my top 5.
Tool next year would be amazing, Nightwish supposedly have a new album next year < 3
|
| |
i thought the ocean's precambrian was a pretty big release no?
havent kept up with their recent output though sadly
|
