FTR I did attempt to clarify multiple times itt, but many were more interested in pointing their torches. It's all good though, I know people's hearts are in the right place and my initial sentences were very reactionary and lacked a good bit of information.
I appreciate those who presented their disagreement with class, and didn't resort to defaming my character when anyone who has known me around these parts is aware of my overall demeanor.

the issue i think is that any time you mention that there are implications for the white men side of things too everyone assumes you are biased and think that these are comparable issues.
no, recognizing that dealing with sexism and crimes associated with it can also effect men does not mean that it is more important to keep them safe from the occasional false-accusation. its just means our system is severely flawed from multiple angles.
you gotta word things like that extremely carefully because people really prefer to play Wheres Waldo with the moral high ground and use fallacious arguments to twist other peoples comments into making them look more retarded than the other to just having a conversation and thinking about the obvious nuances of the problem.

I will read the discussion and join it in a few hours but honestly, is this a surprise? I mean, the lyrics "they were just 17" did not ever seem like a metaphor; also, I would go easy with those overly emotional reactions (changing the rating of the albums, etc). It would be silly if done to say American Beauty because of Spacey's misbehavior, but here they are even worse: basically, the struggles with his own weaknesses were 'proven' true. I cannot immagine how this could be somehow difficult for the fans to understand
