raw icy symphonic bm that is tasteful and not overblown. doesn't get better than this, except maybe the next one!

I love the next one too but this and Dusk and Her Embrace are my top 2 bm albums ever and also happen to be the best of the symphonic style of bm as well. Both flawless with unmatched atmospheres.

def gotta check more cradle haha. but yeah the blend of raw second wave bm and the symphonic stuff is just built for me, nothing quite like emperor.

Yeah they're in a league of their own. Always has been. I love a lot of bm bands but man good ole relibale Emperor and Cradle are still unbeatable for me 20 years later lol. Timeless bands.

Well it's probably their most popular one. I wasn't sure how much you've heard. Cruelty And The Beast might be good next

symphonic bm has never really been my jam so i probably put some unfair expectations on them and others

That's fair. One of the main criticisms that stuck was that they're not "Trve BM" which is true but kind of retarded because they rule

true i think stuff like dimmu borgir and how overblown and corny they are really soured me on the subgenre as a whole. i'm sure they have good stuff too now tho. and i def got into 2nd wave bm through darkthrone so i was biased in that way haha

I never got the Dimmu Burger hype. Like ever. They get compared a lot for superficial reasons but Cradle is in a whole separate world. They're (usually) nowhere near as cheesy as Dimmu
