erase me has enjoyable moments. first track, and a couple others like bloodlust are solid. some have just small moments that are good (in motion, etc). but the closer is lame as shit haha

jammed it on a whim the other day and erase me aint as bad as given credit for. a couple bad songs here and there but the stuff thats good is pretty tight. in motion, no frame, and hold your breath are especially tight

whats kind of wack is the way underoath acts like they dont understand why the fans of DTGL/LITSOS didnt connect with it
like, its super obviously stylistically different

Erase Me idnt very good but its awfulness is a bit overhyped. I like the Industrial tone and I appreciate that they gave their synth player a bigger spotlight for once, just wish they didnt sacrifice most of their interesting songwritting for it.

At the time erase me came out they said fans thought this album was too weird and nobody wanted to listen to it. That was their explanation for the new direction

This album was overlooked by a lot of fans, to be fair. I remember I didn't even listen to it in full until after the new one dropped. Erase Me charted higher at its peak than this did. So I honestly don't blame them for underselling themselves here - there's statistical proof that this album simply didn't do as well as the previous three. That being said, this isn't really that "weird" anyway. If they decided to simplify to the umpteenth degree for Erase Me just because they didn't like the way this album was received, then that's fucking stupid. Doesn't really take away from my enjoyment, but if they were actually intending to sell out then I guess say goodbye to artistic integrity as well as religion, y'know?
I'm probably making myself look even stupider right now so I'mma just end this word-salad here.
