I honestly can’t think of one moment that I enjoyed on this. Only reason it’s not a 1 is because I respect that they wanted to branch out their musical stylings, I just think they completely bombed with this and m2m. Songs like When They Come For Me could have been pretty great, if it was made by someone else. I got about 3/4 through Living Things too, thought that one was okay, around a 2.5. Guess I’ll find out when I get another chance to spin it

This is so much better than Living Things though.

That albums blows. At least this is mildly enjoyable.

Nah it’s the other way around for me. There was nothing great about it, but it only had a couple songs that straight up assaulted my ears, whereas this entire album did

How can this assault your ears? What is so bad about it? I honestly don't get the extreme negative reaction to this

@maxer well it is quite different from their previous releases, and you've always got those hardcore purists that don't like change. I think change was for the better for the band up to this point, then they took a nostalgic nosedive afterwards.

It has nothing to do with being opposed to change though. I like when bands evolve their sound. As I said, I give them props for going in a new direction with this, I just find it to be an awful direction. Idk the bleeps and bloops electronic leanings mixed with Shinoda’s rapping and Chester’s vocals just don’t meld to me at all. I do honestly get what could be enjoyed here, I just find it all... bad

This band was just really awkward with their experimentation

I think for some people it definitely has something to do with the change, but I'm certain that's not the case for all. I still think this is their peak. It's interesting to see how polarizing this album still is

I consider New Divide a bonus track to this album since both where released relatively around the same time
