@park undeniably all amongst the most famous riffs in metal and they're on the SAME album. Achievement in itself tbh. And that's not even mentioning Nothing Else Matters (which I can take or leave)

Neither do I, but I don't think famous is the same as iconic and I'd say those riffs are all iconic (as well as famous obvs)

YOU JUST STOOD THERE SCREAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGG

love that song, i jam it steadily the last couple of days

fun fact: it was originally written to be an instrumental, then, during the last days of the recording process, James wrote some lyrics and they re-recorded it

I still remember the day I first heard The Unforgiven. "No, this isn't Metallica... it can't be."

i bet a lot of similar reactions took place when they released fade to black

This album has really top-notch production, especially for the time. Probably the best James ever sounded as a vocalist. The music is good but I don't think it's as interesting has some of their older stuff, or even Load, in my opinion. It's Metallica going through the motions.

yeah you pretty much nailed it. I stan the last three songs so hard here, but I'll take Load on the whole over this any day of the week.

Production might be best.....ever? It's tied with Empire as my favorite in that regard.

How is that the album from 30 years ago has better production quality than the albums they've released now.
